“Ahimsa”
in upanisads and its relevance to modern society
Abstract
Upanisads explain the word “ahimsa”, and
how to practice. This concept of “ahimsa” accepted by Bauddha school of thought
also. In renaissance period many freedom strikers and scholars accepted
“ahimsa” as a tool to fight social inequalities .Even now it has relevance. In
this paper I wish to discuss above concept.
